"I’ve mourned Mr. Hughes because he did this great movie then made me laugh my head off in ‘Sixteen Candles’ and ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’. And he did it all by respecting young people and their ideas and dreams. I think if we learn to listen to those young voices even in ourselves, then we’ll never lose that sense of wonder, anxiety, fear, and defiance."
